On the 25th May 2018 the EU General Data Protection Regulation came into force across the European Union. In the UK, this was implemented alongside the Data Protection Act 2018. Following the withdrawal of the UK from the EU on the 1st January 2021 this is now the UK General Data Protection Regulation, as defined in section 3(10) of the Data Protection Act 2018.
